HPS, CRCPD Proclaim National Radiation Protection Professionals Week

September 27, 2007

The Health Physics Society (HPS) Board of Directors recently passed a resolution recognizing the week of Nov. 4-10, 2007, as National Radiation Protection Professionals Week.

The proclamation of the first week of November as National Radiation Protection Professionals Week was first made by the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) http://www.crcpd.org in 2005. The CRCPD has continued to pass resolutions proclaiming National Radiation Protection Professionals Week in 2006 and 2007. This is the first year the HPS has passed a resolution with this proclamation.

The intent of these resolutions is to give visibility to the contributions radiation protection professionals make to the health and safety of the nation and to gain recognition of these contributions from employers and the public.
