“Pandemic Flu and Other Reasons to Never Leave Your House”
Stephen Jones, PhD, Yale School of Medicine (BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND)
The presentation will give an overview of both business and personal
risks in regard to acknowledged medical threats (i.e. bioterrorism,
SARS, West Nile virus, etc.) with a heavy emphasis on updating pandemic
scenarios. The latest on risk threat, as well as the most up-to-date
news on vaccine development and response strategies to Avian Flu, will
be included. Learn the basic details concerning these diseases,
including their suspected origins and historical impact on society, and
their socioeconomic outcomes. Understand the reasons why these diseases
pose such a threat. Recommendations will be offered to facilitate
business continuity and also to provide practical ways to best protect
yourselves and your family members.
A top-rated speaker at CPM, Dr. Stephen G. Jones is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine and is a board-certified internist and geriatrician. At Greenwich Hospital, he is the Director of Outpatient Medicine and the Center for Healthy Aging. Dr. Jones is a member of the Yale Quality Council and Yale System Clinical Activation Committee in conjunction with the Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEM), with which he has participated in bioterrorism exercises. In addition, he is the Chairman of Patient Safety and Associate Program Director for Medical Education and Residency Training. Dr. Jones was recently named one of the areas “Top 100 Doctors.” A Professional Member of the National Speaker’s Association, Dr. Jones lectures nationally. He has served as a TV news medical commentator for Cable Network News and hosted and moderated “Medical Journal” on Cablevision.

“The Truth About Al Qaeda, Iraq, and the Future of Global Terror”

This fast moving, hard-hitting and entertaining presentation focuses upon critical information that Americans need to know about global terror and America’s fight against it. Based upon his book, When Terror Comes to Main Street, Joe Ruffini explains Al Qaeda’s tactics, techniques, procedures, sleeper cell operations, and nuclear ambitions within the United States. He describes our enemy’s strengths, but more importantly, exposes its vulnerabilities, putting into plain words what our communities can proactively do today to thwart Al Qaeda plans and operations. Every American has a wartime contribution and role in this war, and this presentation is a call to action, stressing terror awareness, preparedness, and prevention.
Lieutenant Colonel Joe Ruffini is a nationally-recognized counter-terror, school safety, private enterprise and government security practitioner and speaker. He is a CNN Headline Prime News counter-terror contributor and a national conference presenter. Lt. Col. Ruffini is a practitioner of military deception, psychological operations, and the highly classified, “deep black” world of Defense Department Special Plans and Special Technical Operations. Immersed within and responsible for the security of Top Secret Codeword plans and operations, he honed his expertise across the full spectrum of security disciplines, from operations and communications security, to computer, information, and physical security. Lt. Col. Ruffini studies current and emerging world threats to the United States Government and private enterprise on a wide scale –from the overseas theft of American intellectual property to pending terror attacks. He recently served our nation as an Executive Consultant supporting United States Space and Strategic Commands, and the White House National Security Council in support of counter insurgency and information operations for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. He is the author of When Terror Comes to Main Street: A Citizens Guide to Terror Awareness, Preparedness, and Prevention.”
